Budva is quite different from Kotor due to its geographical position, with lots of sandy beaches and a beautiful town. Nearby, only 7 km away from Budva, is Sveti Stefan, a traditional village that has been converted into a luxury hotel. Several former royal houses connected by the royal Milocer Park and the island of Sveti Stefan make this place a unique and world-famous tourist destination. The excursion has 3 parts. First is a cable car to Mt Lovcen, the second is a visit to the old town of Budva and the third is a boat ride from the old town of Budva to St.Stefan and Milocer Park. The boat ride passes by the island of St. Nicola, the biggest island in Montenegro. The tour lasts 8 hours, which is more than enough time to fill yourself with the pure beauty of all the places that we will visit. Welcome:)

WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?

The tour departs from Kotor at 8:00 in the morning. The departure point in Kotor is at ECO petrol gas station next to the bus station, or at some other location that is more suitable for guests.

NOTE: The temperature in the summer season can be very high, above 35 degrees, so pay attention to protect your body with adequate clothes, skin with sun cream, and head with a hat. Always have enough water.

 WHERE WILL WE GO?

We will go to the Cable Car from Kotor to Mt. Lovcen, the Old Town of Budva, St. Stefan (Sveti Stefan), and Milocer Park.

CABLE CAR FROM KOTOR TO MT.LOVCEN

Boka Panorama 03

After picking up the guests, we will start our tour by Trojica Pass, which is a scenic road where we will make a photo stop above the Bay of Kotor. The old town of Kotor is located hidden at the end of Boka Bay, surrounded by two mountains Lovcen and Vrmac, which give it exceptional uniqueness. Everyone who visits Kotor is left breathless due to the beauty and splendid surroundings of this city.

Cable Car Kotor 12

We will have 10 minutes for a photo stop, and then we will descend a few kilometers to the cable car. The route of the cable car starts from the locality of Dub, in the municipality of Kotor, near the entrance to the road tunnel that connects Kotor with Tivat. The route leads to the locality of Kuk on the Lovćen mountain.

Cable Car Kotor 03

The location of Dub terminal is within Grbaljsko polje, 20 km from Budva and 10 km from Tivat. The upper location of the cable car terminal is on the Kuk plateau on the Lovćen mountain, at 1,348 meters above sea level. The height difference between the starting and ending stations will be 1316 meters. The cable car is about 4 km long. Its capacity is 1,000 passengers per hour. The cable car is served by 48 gondolas. Travel time from Dub station to Kuk station is 11 minutes.

m Cable Car Kotor 26

This part of the tour is not obligatory. Guests can take a cable car ride if they wish. Those who are not interested in taking the ride can enjoy an excellent coffee bar and pastry shop on the terrace of the terminal building. The ride in both directions and with a photo stop at the top of the mountain takes approximately 45 minutes. Sometimes clouds make the view not crystal clear on top, but during the ride, the view of the Bay will be visible, especially in the summer. After Cable Car ride the guests continue the short journey to the old town of Budva, where the guide will wait.

BUDVA

m Budva 01

Guests will have a guided tour of the old town of Budva and learn about its impressive history from ancient times to the present day. Budva was destroyed after the 1979 earthquake. After 7 years of renovation, the city got its present appearance. About 200 permanent families live in it, and there are 6 churches, many small squares, shops, restaurants, and cafes in a network of narrow streets, some of which are no wider than a meter.

m Budva 03

Around the old town of Budva, the rapid urbanization of the city in the last 15 years has transformed this Mediterranean town into a city with 20,000 permanent residents, whose number is constantly growing. To avoid traffic jams, we decided to take a boat ride to continue the tour to St.Stefan (Sveti Stefan).

 ST. STEFAN (SVETI STEFAN)

St. Stefan Budva Montenegro 01

St.Stefan is one of the most beautiful places on the Montenegrin coast. This miniature island is dotted with stone houses and joined with the mainland by a sandy isthmus that the sea currents have built over the ages. The old village has been transformed is an exclusive tourist resort, with each house serving as a separate luxurious apartment.

Due to the arbitration dispute between the management of the Sveti Stefan Hotel and the government of Montenegro, the hotel has been closed for 3 years, and we do not know when it will be opened. Visits to the island are also not possible, so we decided to get to the island by boat. Guests will be able to walk from Miločerski Park to St.Stefan.

St. Stefan Budva Montenegro 07

The first cove to the north of Sveti Stefan is the famous Miločer Park. There is a nice villa built in 1934 in the style of local stone houses. It was a royal mansion, which was transformed into a luxury hotel in the middle of the 20th century. The royal park is sheltered by thick groves, Mediterranean plants, especially cypresses, and olives. The ex-royal property has two beautiful pebble beaches, 300 meters long King's Beach, and 150 meters long Queen's Beach.

St. Stefan Budva Montenegro 05

When the hotel is open again and visits to the island are possible, we will adjust the tour to the visit dates so that guests can see the inside. Sveti Stefan has about 40 houses of different sizes, 4 churches (all Orthodox), and one central square where there is a well. Here, residents of the Paštrovici clan lived in harmony for 400 years. After World War II, the communist regime nationalized the island and turned it into a hotel.

St. Stefan Budva Montenegro 10

After visiting St.Stefan, and Milocer we will go back by boat to Budva, and then by car to Kotor. In the case of waves, when the boat ride is not recommended, we will go to Sveti Stefan and Milocer by car.
