ONE-DAY SAILING TOUR (KOTOR BAY AND TIVAT BAY) WITH MH TRAVEL AGENCY
ONE-DAY SAILING TOUR IN MONTENEGRO...DEPARTURE FROM KOTOR...HIGHLIGHTS: KOTOR AND TIVAT BAY, AND ISLAND OUR LADY OF THE ROCKS...DURATION: 12 HOURS ...TICKET PRICE FROM €85.00
Sailing tours take the route in the Bay of Boka the most attractive part of the Montenegrin coast, and peninsula Lustica where sailing gives all that guests want incredible landscape, a lot of beautiful hidden beaches to stop, swim, lunch, or explore, and finally, adrenaline sailing on the open sea. The full experience is given in two days of sailing. One day of sailing covers half of the total route, but anyway, both options are very attractive. This is also the only way to see all the beauties in the bay, which is not possible to reach by car, walking paths, or by standard speed boat tours. If you want to go to Boka Bay and have unforgettable memories, take the sailing tours and you will not regret it. The itinerary which we will describe is highly recommended, but if the guests want to take a break somewhere else this is also possible. Welcome:)
WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?
We will start in front of the tourist info kiosk (next to the Main or Sea Gate in the old town) at 10:00. The sailing boats are located in the Port of Kotor, just 70 meters away from the meeting point. Skippers will come to the meeting point and board the guests to the boats.
NOTE: The temperature in the summer season can be very high, above 40 degrees, so pay attention to protect your body with adequate clothes, skin with sun cream, and head with a hat. Always have enough water.
WHERE WE WILL GO?
We will see Kotor Bay, Perast, and Islet Lady of the Rock. Tivat Bay, St. Marco Island, Islet Our Lady of Grace, and Porto Montenegro.
KOTOR BAY
After boarding we will start to sail to Perast which will take about an hour. Guests will enjoy the lovely panorama of Kotor Bay and Bokelian villages: Muo, Prcanj, Stoliv, Ljuta, and Orahovac. Visiting Perast or the island Our Lady of The Rocks is up to the guest's decision. To visit both places we would need about 90 minutes.
We will continue our sailing passing through 250 meters wide Verige (entrance/exit) of the most significant points of the UNESCO area of Kotor and Risan Bay. Here is a ferry route from Lepetane to Kamenari, from one side of Boka Bay to another.
TIVAT BAY
After we pass Verige we will enter the beginning of Tivat Bay, very popular for sailing and water activities. The biggest island in Tivat Bay is St. Marco Island, which is aligned with Tivat’s other small Prevlaka Island. The side of the island with the view of the peninsula Lustica and villages Radovići and Krašići have crystal clear water and several quiet oases for a swimming break. The island is entirely covered with greenery. In 1962, a tourist settlement was built there, with 500 Polynesian-style bungalows, and it was a very popular tourist destination, especially for nudists.
Next to St. Marco is the islet Our Lady of the Grace, the smallest island of the Krtoli archipelago, which is one of the most beautiful sights in Tivat Bay. It is the less famous ‘brother’ of the Boka’s other island, the shrine Our Lady of the Rocks near Perast. However, unlike Perast’s island which was artificially created by adding materials onto the underwater reef, Tivat’s island has a natural origin. On this small islet are a Franciscan monastery and church dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, which was built in the second half of the 15th century. The church is not open to visitors.
The final destination will be Porto Montenegro in Tivat. This is the most luxurious marina in Montenegro and one of the most luxurious marinas in the Adriatic Sea. Despite its luxurious style, Porto Montenegro has very affordable prices in its cafes and restaurants. Also, the lovely promenade in Tivat is located below the marina, and gives guests many options for a lovely dinner and to enjoy the sunset. Guests will have the option to finish the tour in Porto Montenegro and go back to Kotor by taxi (the distance is 15 km), or they can go back to Kotor with the skipper.

Two DAYs SAILING TOUR (KOTOR BAY, TIVAT BAY, herceg novi bay, and lustica bay) with mH travel agency
TWO-DAY SAILING TOUR IN MONTENEGRO...DEPARTURE FROM KOTOR...HIGHLIGHTS: KOTOR AND TIVAT BAY, AND ISLAND OUR LADY OF THE ROCKS...DURATION: 2 DAYS ...TICKET PRICE FROM €180.00
The first day of the sailing tour is described in the text above. On the second day will go out from Boka Bay sailing among the dolphins on the open sea and enjoying the view of peninsula Lustica (Montenegro) and peninsula Prevlaka (Croatia). This part of sailing has an adrenaline vibe and passes by the popular Blue Cave and the brand-new marina Lustica Bay. If you have options take two days of the sailing tour, because no matter how we describe the trip, you will be surprised that every 30 minutes something new will happen, or another city, or natural attraction, or some hidden island. This diversity of old towns, traditional villages, nature, hidden restaurants, and vineyards with its taverns, beaches, and caves, makes this trip very different than the standard sailing should be. We will not spend hours sailing on the blue sea and chasing the sun. We will sail but at the same time be impressed by everything we pass and see. Guests will have numerous options for making stops for swimming or having lunch. We will start from 2500-year-old cities like Kotor and Risan to the super-nova settlements with the highest quality of service and facilities like Lustica Bay or Porto Novi. Let's see then what the sailing tour will look like on the second day. Welcome:)
WHERE WE WILL GO?
We will see Kotor Bay, Perast, and Lady of the Rock. Tivat Bay, St. Marco Island, Our Lady of Grace, Porto Montenegro, Herceg Novi Bay, The Old Town of Herceg Novi, Rose Village, Mirista Beach, Mamula Island, Blue Cave, and Lustica Bay
HERCEG NOVI BAY
After we finish the visit to Porto Montenegro in Tivat Bay we will continue a few nautical miles to Herceg Novi Bay, where we will dock our boat into the marina and spend the night. Marina is located next to the old town of Herceg Novi on the main spot of the city's promenade named Škver (Square). This place is an ex-railway station that is transformed now into a lovely restaurant. There are a few traditional taverns hidden in the greenery and charming cafes lined up among magnolia trees.
The Square is quiet and small and represents the perfect place for dinner time and summarizing today's impressions with a glass of wine. Herceg Novi means New Town because it was founded in the 15th century, which made it quite "new" compared with other old cities on the Montenegrin coast:)
PENINSULA LUŠTICA
The next morning we will start sailing to the peninsula Luštica and to its most popular parts: village Rose, beach Žanjic, and Mirište. The distance is 1,7 nautical miles. On the opposite side is the peninsula Prevlaka with the Fort Prevlaka, which is a Croatian natural border at the main entrance/exit of Boka Bay.
Rose is a typical Mediterranean village with traditional stone houses lined along the seafront. The beach Zanjic is situated in The Miriste Valley, deeply pulled in the dry land of the Lustica peninsula, 3.8 miles away from Herceg Novi. It is surrounded by old olive groves and azure seawater. Mirišta Beach is next to Žanjice and has a lovely restaurant with concrete terraces and a rocky beach that leads to Fort Arza, the most popular attraction there. Here is a small islet with the Orthodox monastery and church Maria de Sagnic from the 16th century.
The most famous island here is Lastavica or Mamula, which is very close to Mirista. It was that of an Austro-Hungarian military fort built in 1853 The island, however, became most notorious during World War II for the isolated concentration camp built atop the footprint of the former’s ramparts. Today, Mamula is Renovated into a luxurious hotel resort. Guest can stop there and have a visit of Mamula, a have a lunch break if they want.
After 30 minutes of sailing south of Mamula, we will come to the Blue Cave. Blue Cave got its name from the color of the seawater, which depends on the time of day starting from light blue in the morning to dark blue at midday, and back again to light blue before sunset. Swimming in the blue cave is the highlight of the day.
Then we will continue our sailing to the village Veslo with the unique vertical cliffs above the beach, and to Lustica Bay where the tour ends. Guests can stay there and go back to Kotor by taxi. The distance from Lustica Bay to Kotor is 18 km. Lustica Bay is a complex of several hotels, residential buildings, and a yacht marina, built with the highest standards of comfort and facilities and at the same time keeping the traditional looks of the buildings, paved streets with a lot of greeneries like rosemary, lavender, cypresses, and oleanders.
Marina offers several waterfront restaurants, cafes, and bars with excellent service, style, and comfort, and it is highly recommended for a lovely dinner at sunset. Guests who don't want to stay in Lustica Bay can go back to Kotor with the skipper. We should arrive in Kotor by 21:00.
