MONTENEGRO HOSTEL COMPANY
Montenegro Hostel LTD was founded in December 2008 by Gordana Knežević with the idea to create the first company in Montenegro completely dedicated to budget tourism. She starts creating the website www.montenegrohostel.com as the main place where will be displayed all offer accommodations, transfers, tours, and activities. Six months later, she opened the company Montenegro Hostel as a private holder.
Her idea was to create and develop two parts of the company, the travel agency and accommodation units, in a few cities in Montenegro. According to that determination, she opened Montenegro Hostel Travel Agency in Budva, and at the same time, her first hostel in the old town of Kotor. In September of the same year, she opened her second hostel in the old town of Budva, and at the beginning of 2010, she got a tour operator license and started to create tours, transfers, and activities among cities in 3 main Montenegrin regions in the North, the Litoral, and the Central. In 2012, her sister Biljana Knežević joined the company.
MONTENEGRO HOSTEL TRAVEL AGENCY (MH TRAVEL)
Both sisters, formally educated as engineers, used techniques of detailed studying, planning, and measuring each offer constantly listening to and accepting guests' suggestions. Changing and adapting each offer to the modern tourist's needs were their main goals. After 15 years of hard work, they got the result they planned. They created the most visited tourist website in Montenegro with over 10,000 open pages per day.
In 2018, Gordana Knežević turned the travel agency into an online tour operator as the first one who do it in Montenegro, and the whole business was tested only online. It was a brave decision, but it was worth it. Thanks to secure online booking software, guests have gained an excellent experience from the first day of its launch. By using its own reservation system, MH Travel Agency is directly connected to the customer and their needs. Flexibility, especially with cancellation policies, has been key to success from the start. The simplicity of making reservations, security in the process of online payment, and availability of customer service are basic quality standards for modern travelers, which MH Travel Agency improves every day.
MONTENEGRO HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION
From 2009 up to 2025, Montenegro Hostel hosted thousands of young people from all over the world in their 2 accommodation units, Montenegro Backpackers Home Kotor, and Montenegro Backpackers Home Budva, and has gained enough experience for bigger and more complicated challenges.
Both accommodation units underwent complete renovations in 2024 and 2025, utilizing the latest materials and modern facilities for the bathrooms and kitchens. The beds are handmade from metal, designed to prevent any shaking on both the lower and upper bunks. This stability ensures a comfortable stay and restful sleep for our guests.
Positive reviews indicate that guests value the hosts' efforts to provide a warm and welcoming experience, with kindness and friendliness being paramount. Our accommodations are not designed for parties and are not suitable for travelers seeking entertainment on the premises. Since our facilities are located in the heart of historic towns, we prioritize peace and respect for our neighbors, which is our guiding principle. This commitment to tranquility is one of the reasons for our long-standing presence in the area.

In 2025, Montenegro Hostel Travel Agency will have more than 80 different offers (tours, excursions, transfers, and activities). Our strong determination is to be always one step beyond in offering and realizing tourist products, especially customer service. We can proudly say that no part of our website (text, image, video, animation) was created with the help of artificial intelligence. We also point out that we do not use artificial intelligence in customer service, nor do we use automatic responses. Each response to the user is made specifically for each user individually, which is highly recognized and appreciated by users.
