Our rooms are situated in a traditional stone building, which has been adapted to meet the needs of modern travelers. Budva and its Old Town became a tourist center in Montenegro in the second half of the 20th century. The reconstruction after the earthquake in 1979 gave the town a bright shine, keeping its medieval character with narrow zigzag streets and tiny squares. This is also the main shopping district in the town with many small boutiques, jewelers, and souvenir shops, but it is also home to many fine restaurants and cafes. LOCATION
Montenegro Backpackers Home Budva is located inside the city walls, 1,5km from the bus station (about 20 minutes of a moderate walk). A taxi from the bus station to the old town costs up to 7€. Budva doesn’t have a train station.
Airport Tivat is the closest airport to Budva, located 25km from the hostel. The taxi ride costs up to 30 euros per car/ride. The closest beach is 50 meters away.
ROOMS-SEASON 2025
Montenegro Backpackers Home Budva has three 8-bed dorms (4 bunk beds) in the standard room of 32 square meters, with air-conditioning, a bathroom, a kitchen, and lockers in the room. The hostel has 3 floors. Each 8-bed dorm has a fully equipped kitchen. The 6-bed dorm room on the ground floor (3 bunk beds) in the standard room of 16 square meters, with air-conditioning, lockers in the room, a shower bathroom, and a toilet.
Shared dorms can be booked as private dorms. In that case, guests pay the full cost of all beds in the room. For example, if 5 guests want to take a private 8-bed dorm, they will pay for all 8 beds in the room. Guests can book the private dorm on demand.

CONDITIONS-SEASON 2025
THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF NIGHTS OF STAY is 2.
CHECK-IN The earliest check-in is at 12:00 (12 PM), and the latest is at 20:00 (8 PM).
CHECK-OUT is at 11:00 am.
PAYMENT can be by card, or in cash.
BREAKFAST is served in the restaurant near the hostel. Breakfast is not obligatory and costs up to 8 euros per person.
LAUNDRY SERVICE costs 5 euros (washing and drying).
TRAFFIC is forbidden inside the old town of Budva.
CAR PARKING is in a few locations around the city walls. The price per car parking lot is up to 2€ per hour. There is no free car park close to the old town.
CITY(TOURIST) TAX is obligatory and costs 1,1 euro per day of staying per person. The city tax is not included in the price of staying.
TOURS, TRANSFERS, and ACTIVITIES are organized by the hostel's travel agency, and the tickets can be purchased online at the www.montenegrohostel.com website. If guests want to explore Budva and its surroundings by themselves or plan the transfer to another city or state, our staff will give them all the necessary tips, and help them in any way.
PAYMENT AND DISCOUNTS
Guests can make payment before arrival (on demand) or after arrival at check-in. The payment can be made by credit card (Visa, Master, etc), or by cash.
Due to the increasing number of misuse of payment cards (credit or debit), Montenegro Hostel will carry out additional checks as follows:
If you make a reservation through Hostelworld, we will charge the first night of your stay in advance. Hostelworld will charge 15% of the agency commission (called "deposit"), and we will charge the first night in advance. Montenegro Hostel Company has the right to charge the rest of the full amount of the stay within 72 hours before arrival, or on arrival. If you make a reservation through Booking or Expedia, we will charge the full amount of your stay in advance.
Guests who want to switch to the hostel and continue staying in our sister hostel, Montenegro Backpackers Home Kotor, will get a 10% discount. The discount is only possible if the guests do not have an official online reservation. In that case, the guests need to inform the receptionist, and the reservation will be made.

CLEANLINESS
The accommodation is cleaned daily to ensure maximum hygiene. However, guests in shared accommodations must also maintain personal hygiene standards.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Free cancellation is allowed up to 72 hours before your arrival. In that case, the charged amount will be refunded to your card. However, if the cancellation is made within 72 hours of your arrival, the charged amount is non-refundable. Please note that we do not accept cancellations by phone, message, or email.
The cancellation request should be made through the same online agency where the reservation was made (Hostelworld, Expedia, Booking.com, etc).
NOTE: Guests who don't cancel reservations officially via Hostelworld, Booking, Expedia, etc, and don't show up will be charged for the full amount of the stay.
DIRECTION
Montenegro Backpackers Home Budva is situated in the heart of the old town, which is small and easy to navigate. Upon your arrival at Budva bus station, it should take you approximately 15 minutes of easy walking to reach the old town, which is 1 km away.

The Old Town of Budva has a total of 5 entrance gates. Four entrance gates are located on the east side of the city walls, such as the Iron Gate, and only one entrance is located on the north side, called the Main Gate. It is located 30 meters close to the beach and 50 meters away from the Hotel Avala. Enter through the main entrance and go straight 70 meters to the small square (Square of Poets) where you can see the only pharmacy BENU in the old town (on the left side).
The pharmacy is in the same building where we are, but our entrance is on the south side of the building (you have to go around the building). So, go straight 5 meters and then turn left. Before you turn left, you will see the cafe bar Greco, the cafe bar Jeff, and on the right side, you will see the office of the Tourist Organization Budva. When you turn left, you will enter a very small street called Vuka Karadzica. Our accommodation is located at number 12.

WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO
Budva is the most popular tourist city in Montenegro, which has appx 40 sandy and pebble stone beaches. It is a paradise for people who love swimming, sunbathing, water activities, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, etc. Budva is quickly developing, trying to follow all the needs of its many visitors.
EXPLORING THE OLD TOWN AND THE CITY WALLS
The old town lies at the cape of Budva’s spacious bay. Budva is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic. The legend holds that it was founded by the Theban king Cadmus, while the written sources tell us about the Greek colony Buthoa already in the 4th century. BC. The Old Town is enclosed by sturdy town walls that stand in the place of the medieval ones but date mostly from the renewal following the 1667 earthquake.
The entrance to it is gained through six gates: the main Land Gate from the spacious square facing north, the small Sea Gate towards the small beach, and four others from the direction of the yachting marina. It is possible to climb up the walls in three places and walk along the ramparts from the Land Gate to the Citadel. Above the Land-Gate stands the winged lion of St Mark, the symbol of the Venetian Republic. From the Land Gate starts Njegoševa St., the main street of the Old Town, which leads to the Trg Pjesnika (Poets ' Square) with an info point and the tiny Sea Gate to its right.
HIKING BUDVA
Unlike Kotor, Budva does not have a high mountain next to the city, but several hills where hiking is easy without a guide or special physical condition. One hiking trail is over Toplis Hill to Jaz Beach. Hiking has 5 km of ascent and 10 km of descent to the beach. The second hiking trail is from the Maine Monastery to Krapina village and Lastva Grbaljska.
This trail has 3 km of ascending and 10 km of descending to the village of Lastva. The third is a very popular hiking trail from the main highway to Duljevo Monastery and down to St. Stefan, passing over Pastrovska Gora hill, where there is an amazing view of St. Stefan. The hiking trail has 7 km of ascending and 10 km of descending.
PARAGLIDING
For visitors who are passionate about extreme sports, Budva is the only city on the Montenegrin coast that offers paragliding. Due to favorable wind conditions, the launch point is in Brajici at a height of 850 meters, with the flight taking place over Becici.
Guests can either bring their paraglider or rent one on-site. An instructor will accompany beginners during their jump.
