MH Travel Agency has created this tour for guests who want to visit Kotor and Perast, which are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage site. Kotor with its impressive history of more than two millennia and its location in the incredibly beautiful Bay of Boka is very high on the world tourist map. It represents a long historical line of the Boka people and as the crown of the testimony of past centuries, there are impressive city walls that frame the old town of Kotor. Everyone who visits Kotor is left breathless due to its uniqueness. Only 10 km far away, in the middle of the Bay of Kotor, lies the small town of Perast with its two islets St. George and Lady of the Rock, with small churches on them. The handmade islet Lady of the Rock symbolically represents power and trust in God who gave hope and strength to generations of sailors, navigators, and captains who were raised in Perast and Kotor.

m Kotor Old Town

The tour has 3 parts. First is a cable car to Mt Lovcen, the second is a boat ride from the Perast and the islet Lady of the Rock, and the third part is the visit to the old town of Kotor.  The tour lasts 8 hours, which is more than enough time to fill yourself with the pure beauty of all places that we will visit. Welcome:)

WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?

The tour departs from Budva at 8:00 in the morning, which is the standard time for all our trips. The departure point in Budva is from the ECO petrol gas station next to the hotel Slovenska Plaža.

Boka Panorama 06

On our way to Kotor will continue using by Trojica Pass, which is a scenic road where we will make the photo stop above the Bay of Kotor. PERAST

m Perast 2

When we arrive in the old town of Kotor guests will go first to Perast and Lady of the Rock by speed boat. This is the only way to avoid traffic jams, especially in the summer. A relaxing speed boat ride to Perast will be memorable and guests will be there in 15 minutes. This part of the tour is not guided. A relaxing speed boat ride to Perast will be memorable and guests will be there in 15 minutes. This part of the tour is not guided. When arrive guests will have 30 minutes walk around the town, where they can explore its main attractions: St. Nicholas church with its belfry, the town square, the Maritime Museum, as well as many traditional palaces and churches built in the 16th and 17th century that still keep authentic looks.

m Perast 03

Although Perast is the tourist center of Boka Kotorska, it still preserves the dignity of a peaceful town in which the spirit of past times truly feels. Spared from modern buildings, cozy-luxury shops, fast food restaurants, souvenir shops, and everything else that accompanies modern life and tourism, Perast looks like time stopped into it. The traffic in the city is closed in the summer months so tourists can safely walk around and sightseeing in the town. Perast is a part of the municipality of Kotor and has been protected by UNESCO since 1979. It is a small place with one main street by the sea and 2 small islets in front with churches on them. The island's names are St George and Our Lady of the Rocks, which is why Perast is mostly known in the tourist world.

m St. George PerastIsland St. George is a natural rocky islet with the Benedictine abbey from the 12th of century, a graveyard with cypresses, and St. George church from the 17th of century. The islet is closed to the public except for some rare events, while the next islet Our Lady of the Rocks islet is open to visitors. Guests will get a boat ride to get the island, where will have 45 minutes of sightseeing. The small baroque church from the 17th century with a bronze roof painted in light blue it is just as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside.

m Perast 03

The interior of the church is lovely decorated with paintings made by the talented local painter Tripo Kokolja and the ceiling is the most fascinating. Guests can also see numerous small silver plates with reliefs on the exhibit on the church's walls. These were consecration gifts to Our Lady of the Rock, for the protection of life, health, and family of believing people. The church has a small museum with a collection of stone inscriptions from the Roman era, parts of ships and navigation instruments, utensils, swords, clocks, weapons, old furniture, handicrafts to modern paintings.

m Lady of the Rock 01

After visiting Lady of the Rocks, guests will go by speed boat back to the port of the old town of Kotor where the tour guide will wait for them.

KOTOR

m Kotor Old Town 01

Kotor old town has been on the list of UNESCO World Heritage since 1979 mostly thanks to its impressive city walls.

m The Old Town of Kotor

St. Giovanni is the name of the city walls and fortification, built above the old town of Kotor on the rocky slopes of the Lovcen mountain from the 9th to the 19th of century. To reach the top guests need to climb almost 1500 steps, (45 minutes of intense climbing) which is not easy during the summer heat.
