ABOUT budva & st.Stefan TOUR with mh travel AGENCY
MH Travel created this tour especially for guests staying in Kotor and the Bay of Kotor in Kotor, and who want to visit Budva and Sveti Stefan as the most tourist places on the Montenegrin coast. Budva is quite different from Kotor due to its geographical position, without bays, but with lots of sandy beaches and a beautiful 2500 years old town. Nearby, only 7 km away from Budva, is Sveti Stefan, an incredibly beautiful traditional village that has been converted into a luxury hotel
Several former royal houses connected by the royal park and the island of Sveti Stefan make this place a unique and world-famous tourist destination that is high on a “must visit” level. Our tour is very concentrated on the two main experiences. The first is a visit to the old town of Budva, where guests will get a 90-minutes guided tour and quite enough time to relax in the restaurants and cafes that surround the main square, the city walls, and the promenade.
The other is a visit to St. Stefan, which means the possibility that guests can enter and visit the famous place inside, not only outside. Guests will also get a tour of Milocer Park with the Royal House and the beach.
The tour lasts 6 hours, which is more than enough time to fill yourself with the pure beauty of both places. Visiting St Stefan inside is an excellent offer for tourists who want to explore more than a standard photo-stop. We warmly recommend this tour, affordable to everyone. Welcome:)
WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?
The tour starts at 8:00 am close to the old town of Kotor. From Kotor to Budva is only a 25 km distance. In the off-season, we need 25 minutes of the ride between the cities, but in very high season we need 45 minutes which is written in our itinerary. If guests take the private tour we will pick up them from their accommodations. Also, if guests stay in some accommodation close to our route (for example guests from Tivat), we can pick them up on the main road. Pick-up location can be flexible sometimes if suits guest better than the standard one.
WHERE WE WILL GO?
We will go to Sveti Stefan and the old town of Budva.
After we start from Kotor we will drive 20 minutes to the viewpoint above Jaz beach where we will make a photo-stop. Jaz beach is one of the most popular sandy beaches in Budva with a total length of 1,2 km. A few kilometers further we will enter Budva and turn towards the Old Town, where we will start the visit.
Guests will have a guided tour of the old town and learn about its impressive history from ancient times to the present day. After sightseeing the main places of the old town and its surroundings, guests will get free time for shopping, exploring more, or just relaxing in the many restaurants and cafes around the city walls. Some of them are located on the beach, by the sea, which makes a special atmosphere.
ST. STEFAN (SVETI STEFAN)
After visiting Budva's old town, we will go to St.Stefan, one of the most beautiful places on the Montenegrin coast. We should be there up to 11:00 where the guests can take a 45-minute tour inside the island. The guided tour is organized by the hotel resort St.Stefan and costs 20 euro per person. The resort hotel sometimes changes the departure time and could be noon instead of 11:00. In case the hotel's tour starts is at noon, we will first take a walk through the Royal Park Miločer, and then take the St.Stefan tour.
The panoramic view of St. Stefan is surely one of the most memorable sights along Montenegro’s coast, photographed so many times that is almost impossible to imagine a promotional brochure or video without its enchanting sight. This miniature island is dotted with stone houses and joined with the mainland by a sandy isthmus which the sea currents have built during the ages. The old village has been transformed is an exclusive tourist resort, with each house serving as a separate luxurious apartment.
The first cove to the north of Sveti Stefan is the famous Miločer park. There is a nice villa built-in 1934 in the style of local stone houses. It was a royal mansion, which was transformed into a luxury hotel in the middle of the 20th century. The royal park is sheltered by thick groves, Mediterranean plants, especially cypresses, and olives. The ex-royal property has two beautiful pebble beaches, 300 meters long King's beach, and 150 meters long Queen's beach, both reserved for guests of St.Stefan, and Miločer hotel.
St. Stefan is amazingly beautiful inside. Guests who want to take a tour in the island can do that by the hotel's guide. Others who will skip the tour can take a rest on the beach enjoying that miraculous place or have lunch in the restaurants nearby the island. The prices are affordable comparing the location and popularity of the place.
Some guests will want to have lunch in the St.Stefan hotel resort. They should send us a request to be able to make a reservation. That requests should be on time, a minimum of 1 day before the arrival in the offseason, and 3 days before the arrival in the high season. After visit St.Stefan we will go back to Kotor and Kotor Bay.
