ABOUT THE TOUR KOTOR-BUDVA-PERAST
This tour is the most popular choice of our guests visiting Kotor with cruise ships and have only a couple of hours to explore. In case the cruise ship is in Kotor for a little longer we recommend this tour as you will visit three most popular cities on Montenegrin coast (Kotor, Perast and Budva. This is a well-organized shore tour and as such can be booked only as private. Price of the tour is actually for a maximum of four passengers and is the same for one, two or three passengers.
As this is a private tour the departure time can be adapted to your liking but not later than 13:00 from Kotor.
Please consider all the information when booking this tour.
The tour will start in front of the tourist info kiosk located in front of the main gate of the Old Town of Kotor, known as Sea Gate. For the guests coming from the cruise ship distance from port to the gate is 100 meters.
In front of the tourist info kiosk at arranged time a licenced guide will be waiting for you, after you meet we will proceed with Kotor city tour which will last 45 minutes to one hour. Our professional guide will take you around the Old Town and show you the most important history monuments and buildings in town: Square of Arms, Bizanti Palace, Beskuca Palace, Pima Palace, St Tryphon Cathedral, Maritime Museum, St Nicholas Church, Blessed Osanna Church as well as the north gate.
As the biggest attraction we recommend to visit the city ramparts thanks to which Kotor became a part of UNESCO World Heritage. In the remaining one hour you can walk up to the church of St. John and take some fantastic panoramic photos of the town and buy some souvenirs afterwards.
After our visit to Kotor we will continue to Perast (located 12km from Kotor), throughout history one of the most important towns in Boka Bay. Perast is a part of Kotor Municipality and is under UNESCO protection as well. Its main attraction two small islets St George and Our Lady of the Rocks make Perast well-known in touristic world. On each of the islets there is a church. Church on St George islet is closed for public except during some rare events, while Our Lady of the Rocks islet and church can be visited.
When we arrive to Perast our guests will be taken with a boat to the man-made island Our Lady of the Rocks where a professional guide will explain the history of the islet, its church and museum. The way the island rose from the sea is a beautiful and authentic story. Then we will walk down the main street , which is the only one in Perast where you will see St Nicholas church with its belfry, town square, Maritime Museum, as well as many traditional palaces and churches built as early as in 16th century which still kept their authentic looks. Perast is definitely the pearl of BokaBay.
After our visit to Perast we will head for Budva which is located 35km away, but in high season travel time will take around one hour because of traffic. Old town of Budva is smaller than Kotor Old Town, and was founded as Kotor 2500 years ago. It’s the only old town on our coast with a beach just next to the city walls which is why it became a center of touristic interest decades ago. In front of the old town there is the town square, two beaches to the south and west side, St John’s Cathedral, Archeological Museum and Citadel with a beautiful viewpoint. The town has a special atmosphere which is always a little glamorous. Budva is the fastest developing town on the coast, with a special blend of modern and traditional tourism. It is also the center of fun and great nightlife.
After we finish touring Budva we will take back our guests from Kotor and leave them in front of the Port of Kotor.
